Squirrel Run – Interactive Game Repair

On-site diagnostics & repair of a squirrel racing game for a local play centre. Issues manifested as multiple motors no longer working.

• Mechanical issues identified on one track leading to a stalled motor burning out components
• Multiple burned out motor relays replaced
• Addition of a fuse on motor power supply
• Motor speed controller repair:
  • Burned trace repaired
  • Shorted MOSFET identified
  • All MOSFETs replaced with a lower Rds equivalent to support more power
  • Original flyback diodes identified as the wrong type for this application. Replaced with a Schottky diode
• Addition of a capacitor and MOV across each motor to lessen arcing, and therefore premature damage to the relays.
